EVENTS IN SHANNON. (Chronicled by our Resident Representative). At a special meeting of the Shannon School Committee, held on Tuesday evening to consider applications for appointment to the position of assistant mistress, rendered vacant by the resignation of Miss Steele, it was unanimously decided to recommend the Board to appoint Miss I. Stace lo the position. At a meeting of the Vestry of the Ven Bede's Church, Shannon. held last Monday evening, it was decided to erect a new fence in front of the Vicarage, and to call for tenders for the work. Tt was also resolved that a meeting of church people be called by circular, to be held in the church to consider important business matters on Tuesday, December 10th.

The Miranui Gun Club is still flourishing. The members int. Mid to hold ' monthly competitions. The shoot for Mr S. W. Carter's trophy will take place next Saturday.
