The Levin Town Band, playing the Dead March from "Saul," preceded the funeral procession, and members of the (Tinted Ancient Order of Druids were present in large numbers to pav their last tribute of respect io a deceased brother.

At the Otaki Police Court on Thursday last, Joseph Allen appeared, charged on the information of Constable Satherley, that on the 20th inst he obtained goods and money- to the value of £ ; ~> from J. 11 oward Andrew, storekeeper at Manakau, by means of a valueless cheque.
