Points prizes at the Levin Pluwer Show were won as follows: — Pot plants (greenhouse), Mrs K. Prouse, 12 points; pot plants (not greenhouse grown) Mrs J. Howell, S points; cut blooms, Mr P. Penn, 21 points; sweet peas, Mr \V. W. Weggery, 2J. points; decorative, Miss Phyllis Prouse, 18 points; decorative, children under 15, Miss Phyllis Wilson, 10 points; vegetables, Mrs D. McKain, 21 points. The points prize is to be won on the total number of points in summer and autumn shows in section VI., garden produce. The members of the Boating Club rolled up in strong force yesterday afternoon, prepared to entertain their friends, but a boisterous nor'-wester kept people away, and in consequence the picnic was postponed until next Wednesday. Those who did turn up went rowing- and sailing on the lake, and for the first time since Mr Niven removed the "Lake Queen" to Tauranga, a motor boat was seen on the lake, Mr W. J3. Macintosh having .fitted an "Evenrude"' oil marine engine into one of the Club's large rowing boats. He took several parties for "a spin" on the lake during the afternoon

Levin floliday Association seems likely to take form immediately. A canvass of the gradespeople has been made during the last fe wdays, and unanimously favourable expressions of opinion have been voiced. A meeting of nil retailers interested 111 the subject is convened for to-morrow evening (Friday), at 8 o'clock, in Ivess Brothers' Sample Rooms.

A gift of pot plants has been made to Levin and District Beautifying Society by Mr A. J. Shailcr, of Palmerston North, Next week he will send the society a further present (of dahlias and crysanthemuins for adorning the grounds. Mr. Shatter's liberality is much appreciated by the socicty. . # # Levin public gardens, situated in Cambridge street, are to be opened next Saturday afternoon, at 2.30 o'clock. These gardens have been formed only a short time, but already they are most pleasing to the eye, and doubtless there Avill be a good attendance of the public at the opening ceremony, which Avill be conducted by the Mayor and councillors of the borough.
