Japanese Fair
RESULT OE THE COMPETITIONS. The five pound box of tea (donated by Mr Gibson) was won by Mrs Lodge and Mrs Middleton. They guessed seven pounds. The actual weight of the tea in the red tea-pot was six pounds eleven ounces. The two winners will theiefore receive two and a half pounds of tea each from ihe Bed Store.
Mrs Mason (a visitor from Wellington) won the cake kindly donated by Mrs Newman, of Jvoputaroa. She fixed the weight at eight pounds three and a half ounces. The actual weight was three pounds five ounces. It is anticipated that the net result of the bazaar will be between :£9O and £100. The attendance was as good as last ye?]*, but (probably owing chiefly to tlie strike) only a little more than half the garments made by the Work Guild .were sold.
