This, however, did not last many hours, and all trace of any such movement has disappeared. Trade is rapidly resuming its normal condition ami promises to be exceedingly brisk from now on. Old potatoes are now iu poor demand, in view of the normal price at which new lines are selling, the supply I of the latter being practically 1 equal to the demand. Eggs are 8 in full supply, prices being un- | influenced by the present condifi laon of transport facilities. Pork I is in excellent demand with short B supply. Fair stocks of honey are | still held, and there has been no 8 increase in values. Trade with i Nelson is now resuming, and large I shipments of peas and fruit may I be expected daily. We have still I a limited stock of flour available, 8 which we are placing at the dis- | posal of our regular customers in 1 limited quantities. We hope to 1 obtain delivery of our new season's I rape seed within a few days, and advance orders will be executed with all expedition. American apples are selling freely, and it is anticipated that there will be a shortage before next shipment arrives. Strawberries are arriving in large quantities from Auckland, and are in excellent demand. I Rhubarb is also in good demand. Cauliflowers are scarce and realising excellent prices. Cabbage is iin over supply. Lettuce in good demand. All root vegetables are in ready sale. Supplies of all grains arid meals are exceedingly scarce, but it is anticipated that this condition of affairs will not - last for more than a week. Chaff is in fair demand, but values are . not abnormal. . Potatoes, seed (Up-tonlates).— £'•3 per ton. Prime,—.i's to £o 10s per ton. New potatoes.- -4d to "d per lb.
