American apples are selling freely, and it is anticipated that there will be a shortage before next shipment arrives. Strawberries are arriving in large quantities from Auckland, and are in excellent demand. I Rhubarb is also in good demand. Cauliflowers are scarce and realising excellent prices. Cabbage is iin over supply. Lettuce in good demand. All root vegetables are in ready sale. Supplies of all grains arid meals are exceedingly scarce, but it is anticipated that this condition of affairs will not - last for more than a week.
