THE LOCAL TIME TABLE. Sarching through a railway timetable makes most people irritable. The railway table, like the polony, contains many good things, but the public prefer to have the one particular food (whether mental or alimentary) desired on a given occasion, Hot a i botch potch Oi figures concerning the branch line of Toko, the side track at Waggbnville, or the cross line to Novel-march. Local residents may ascer--f tain which are the trains which 3 cater for their towns, and may j then work out, from the above j figures, the" time which the.train j will take to'travel from the star tion immediately preceding. The Auckland express reaches Palmerston from the North, at ' 12.40 p.m., and arrives at Thorndon at 4.7 p.m. The Auckland express leaves Thorndon at 12.15 t p.m. and reaches Palmerston at 3.35 p.m. The extra Auckland ; express commenced Ist October.
