For Railway Passengers Guidance.
i THE LOCAL TIME TABLE. j Sarching through a railway timetable makes most people irritable. The railway table, like the polony, eontaius many good things, but the public prefer to have the one particular food (whether mental or alimentary) desired on a given occasion, not a hotel) potch of figures concerning the branch line of Toko, the side track at Waggonville, or the cross line to Nevermarch. The particular figures likely to be of benefit to dwellers between Paekakariki and Palmersion North are what renders of The Horowheiiua Chronicle need most, and for our I readers' convenience those figures are now appended:—
As previously mentioned, there are several wayside stations at which one or more of the above trains will stop whenever passengers desire to be set down or taken up. Local residents may ascertain which are the trains which cater for their towns, and may (hen work out, from the figures, the time which the train will take to travel from the station immediately preceding. The Auckland express readies Palmerston from the North, at 12.40 p.m., and arrives at Thorndon at 4.7 p.m. The Auckland express leaves Thorndou at 12.15 p.m. and reaches Palmerston at ;j.35 p.m. The extra Auckland express commenced Ist October.
