(To the Editor.) Sir, —In yours of Wednesday's Mr Gardener set out to prove black was white, and in to-day s paper he strives to show white is black. As he seems fond of the exercise, I submit my two accounts: Sept-ember, 2(500 feet, El. 3s lOd in Levin; in Marton the price would have been £1 Is 8d; October, 21.00 feet, 1.9s 3d; in Marton 17s Gd. I conclude the correspondence by thanking you (or allowing my positive facts to be placed before the public, showing conclusively that the Noah's Ark system of discounts in Levin is prejudicial to the best interests of the borough.—Yours, etc., J.
