[PER-PRESS ASSOCIATJON.] YOUNG MAN IN TROUBLE. Dannevirke, This Day. Walter James Hasler was arrested at Kaitoke on Friday, and was remanded to appear at Pongaroa on Tuesday next for alleged carnal knowledge of a twelve-year-old-gii'l, at Pukctoi, on Wednesday last. The accused, a young man, said lie desired to plead guilty and save the production of witnesses, but a remand was granted to enable some evidence to be taken to send oil to the Supreme Court. ROWING ACCIDENT. Auckland, This Day. William Gillettby was drowned in a creek near Whakatane through his cart capsizing and falling on top.of him.
