< AJthough the weather on Saturday morning looked very doubtful, it Wiis decided to have the opening of the season if the rain kepi oIV. This it did, and as the ai'iernoon advanced ihn grounds began to fill with people, and by I'oin o'clock there was a very large attendance of visitors and players. The president of (he el til) CDi , . Kennedy) mad? a sliori speech, and declared the season open. The afternoon tea, which was taken in hand by the men, was greatly appreciated. Judging by the keenness of members, the outlook for the present season is very promising , , The committee will meet this week to arrange tin , , lml/io.v games, and also for a handicap competition. f players at the courts on Mou:iy, and some good games were laved, players being verv keeu.
