The White Man's Burden.
« The great task which Australia ha.« entered on in connection with the development of the Northern Territory is clearly shown by the fact that for the current financial year, the total expenditure will be £542,601. This means that every Australian will contribute 5s per head for Northern development. Add this to the naval and military expenditure and whatever may be said of the White Australia policy it must be admitted that the preparations made to uphold it, arc, for a small nation, verging on the extraordinary.
