Sydney, October 18. Rose Day was colebratOiTio-day, and the O'nited Chanties netted over three thousand pounds. It was brilliant weather, and the streets were filled with booths laden with roses supplied from suburban gardens. Hundreds of ladies were driving brisk sales, which were backed by subscriptions.
The sports included a Roman chariot race at the Agricultural Ground, which drew 15,000 people. The new scheme for raising funds has proved a great success.
