LOCAL & GENERAL $ On page -I to-day appear some motor and cycling notes, Wellington markets, and some cabled news. Levin's level crossing over the railway in Queen-street still is a source of danger. It was correctly reported, last week, that an olcctric alarm was being installed at the crossing, but there was no permanency about it. Early this week it was taken down and removed, the installation having been made for experimental purposes only. The device was inspected by Mr Hilev, the new general manager of the New Zealand Railways, and if lie thinks fit, there will be a permanent set-ting-up of one of the alarms made at the Queen-street crossing.
