Levin.
4 (A Lad's Philosophy). I toured London, Paris and Perth, But Levin is the prettiest place on earth ; The rivers and lakes alike are grand, But why it don't grow I can't understand. It has a beautiful library, The gift of Andrew Carnegie; You ought to see the Grand Hotel! No other building looks as well. Next comes the recreation ground With beautiful sites set all around : It costs the borough a lot of "hoot"— But what we want is a Mater slittie. The prettiest site (I don't want to boast), Js the Horowheiiua Lake, that 1 like most; But the boats, the shed, the pier, and all Will very shortly to pieces fall. The road to the beach they could improve, And the council is beginning to move; It (he public would wake up and do as they ought, The beach would be a pleasant resort. Tf I was only a moneyed man, Beside the council I would stand, And as sure as the sun sinks in the west, Believe me friends, I'd do my best TO ADVANCE LEVIN. —W.P.H.
