Im-: howling green and oilier asseis of (he Levin Bowling Club Company, Limited, which lately went inlo li(|iii(latioii, have been acquired by ten of the shareholders in (he. company, with the intention of forming u bowling club to replace the former one, and to preserve the property as a bowling given for the benefit of (lie residents of Levin. Bowling is. a I popular sport, and its popularity jis steadily increasing. J( i's therefore matter, for congratulation that this green, which was laid down at considerable expense, and occupies a position most suitable for the purpose, j.s being preserved to the town. The old company was forced to liquidate, owing to lhe very small measure of support it received from the residents of Levin, and it is hoped ill"! Hie public spirited shareholder;-, who have been the means of preserving the property as a bowling green, will receive, in their efforts to form a club, more generous support than was accorded lo (lie company. A meeting of intending players ;uid those interested in the game will shortly be called, and we hope (Iml it will be well ai(ended both by old players and prospective players.
