Proposed Testimonials.
I The New Zealand Dairyman . wants to get up two testimonials , one to Mr Ellison and one to Mr Lowe, of Weddell ami Co. We think that both gentlemen richly desserve some aeknowJcdgmcnL of 1 the good services they have rendered to the dairy industry of New Zealand by telling us the truth about ourselves and our industry. We (the Xew Zealand Dairyman that is) suggest a hundred-guinea are ready 1o give i's to each on ' demand. We think that if each of these gentlemen were paid ■£10000 by the dairymen of New Zealand they will still he in iheir debt. Had it not been for Weddel and Co getting the cheese analysed for moisture we would have been reverting to the manufacture of dairy school "fool cheese," as we used to do in the dark ages with the but lor. Now wo know that the moisture is not excessive it is the business of those immediately concerned to see that the faults in manufacture are corrected. We have suggested our remedy pay tlie men hotter, cull oul all the cnioloss wasters, give the others a (piality bonus, and then let the dairy farmers divide the extra profit of over £100,000. For ourselves wo are eternally grateful to .Mr Ellison, for telling the dairy fanners of New Zealand that there is still a lot of money in minding one's own business at homo, and very little in minding the other fellow's business at the other end of the world. Any time our two "fivers" are asked for to buy the presentation watches suggested we are ready to pay them. _ We are so eternally grateful to "these gentlemen that we are prepared to act as treasure]' for, both funds ourselves. N.Z. Dairyman.
