The final report of the inspectors appointed to investigate the affairs of the Colonial Mutual Life has been tabled ia the House of Assembly. It states that at the date of the investigations the society was solvent, and able to meet all liabilities immediate and prospective. The charges of fraud, dishonesty of management, and incapacity, made against the directors and managers are wholly unjustifiable. The actuarial valuation is substantially correct. Assets shown on the books and the balancesheet have been verified; all the assets are of good value for the amounts shown. The more serious of the other allegations were not justified, and the remainder have 110 material bearing on the position of the society. The directors of the society regard the report as highly satisfactory, as it proves that the reflections cast upon the management are unjustifiable. (Received 9.45 a.m.) Sydney, This Day.
