Says the Auckland Star: It will be remembered that when the Maori team toured Australia rec ntly, Piki, the half-back, had a leg badly broken, and has since been an inmate of the Sydney Hospital. The injured leg has the medical authorities a lot of trouble, and it has been found necessary to perform several operations, but it is still considered that it will be at least three months before the sufferer is about again. Piki is a married man with three children, and when in Auckland the Australian team suggested to Mr Pa rata that something ought to be done on his behalf, and offered to play a match in Auckland with the Maori ten in at the end of their tour, the proceeds to be handed over to the injured player. Mr Parnta approached the Auckland Rugby TTnion, and they have promised their assistance, and the match will be played at Alexandra Park on Saturday, the 27th inst. The team to represent the Maoris will | be chosen from the following:— Hughes (Manawatu), Rylnnds (Poverty Bay), Grace (Wellington), Gcddes (Auckland), Woods (Rotorua), Nuku (Bay of Plenty), BroAvn (Taranaki), Ilia Hia, Winiata, Rawiri (Horowhenua), Tresize, Cunningham, Hall (Auckland), McDonald (Marlborough), French (Buller), Tnkarangi (Wanganui), Tama (Taranaki), Rogers (Rotorua). THE PAKEHA TEAM. The following is the team to represent the Pakehas in their match against the Maoris, at Levin, 011 Saturday week Full-back: Ferris. Three-quarters: Woods, Lester, Wilson. Five-eights: Mowbray, Griffiths. Half: McDonald. Wing-forward: Tim Close. Hookers: O'Regan, Boulton. Lock: W. Wilson. Supports: Lewer, McQuinlnn. Last-down: Malcolm, Moynihan.
