As a motor car containing - Arthur Duncan, Arthur Gillies, Harold Thomson, and Gonville Saunders (well-known golfers) was go- * ing to the golf links this morning ' the front wheel of the car sideslipped when the driver attempted The spokes of the wheel broke, the * tyre burst, and the car turned j completely over. Duncan Gillies and Saunders, who were iu the back seat, were thrown clear '| of the car, escaping with a few bruises. The driver of the car - j a man named Carter—fell fairly Oil the side of his head inside the | car, and was picked up unconscions. Thomson also fell on the side of his head, with the car on ' lop of him. Both men were cartied into _ adjoining shops, and ( medical aid sought. The driver soon recovered consciousness, and Thomson also revived later. "He lias strained muscles in his arm, j but apparently neither man had j any bones broken j though their faces both were much cut about and their bodies bruised. The car was smashed considerably.
