OWED TO POKE]}: (£?) (And Sent to The Chronicle.) Poker! the game that oft appealed to me, Hath let me down and that right heavily. Dawn saw me paying out with feeble joke, Alack ! Ah me ! All woe is me ! (and broke). And if 1 not so otherwise had been, So cursed potty or so verdant green, 1. had not now sml rued the parted shillings, Oh, senseless draws! Oh, injudicious fillings! And when again f play this blasted game, No doubt I shall precisely do the same, And spite of all experiences bought, On a full hand be on a four card caught.
