Army Officer with four Ranks
The appointment, of Lord Brooke, soil and heir of the Karl of Warwick, to command a Canadian cavalry brigade during the army manoeuvres in the Dominion in -Tune will giyo the extraordinary distinction of holding four dilferent military ranks.
He is already a captain of the Ist Life Guards Special Kcservc, major and brevet-licuteiiaiit-colo-nel of ihe Warwickshire .Royal Horse (Territorials), and honorary colonel of the Bth Battalion Essex KeginienK Territorials): he will shortly be an acting brigadiergeneral.
Lord Brooke, who is in his .'list year, saw active service in the South African War. He was the youngest officer bearing a commission, and for a time was Lord Milncr's A.D.C. '.
He accompanied the Russian Army (o Manchuria during the Ihi.sso-elapanese war as a war correspondent, and his book on his experiences proved him to be a writer of much ability.
