CLEARING- SALE AT MANAKAU. Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report having held a very succeeful clearing sale of dairy stock at the farm, Manakau, on Tuesday last, on account of Mr H. Briscoe. The firm's report says:--The attendance of buyers was very satisfactory, and bidding all through the sale was keen. The cows came forward in first-class order, and bidding for cows close to profit was good, some very satisfactory prices being obtained. The herd, numbering thirty-six cows, made the satisfactory average of £8 Bs. Some of the best individual prices are as under:—Dairy cows, £16, £15, £14 ss, £14, £12 2s 6d, £12, £11 2s 6d, £10 7s 6d, £10 ss, £10, £9, £8 10s, £8; others at from £5 10s to £r 15s. We also offered, on account of some other vendors, yearling steere and heifers, which sold, at from 34s to 565. Mr Briscoe's complete milking plant, a two double bucket L.K.G., with 2f h.p. "Tangye" engine, was also disposed of under the hammer at a satisfactory figure. PALMEIISTON STOCK SALE Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report: At; Palmerston North, on Thursday, the 14th inst,, a fa entry of sheep met with spirited competition, and all lots sold under the hammer at the following quotations:— Sheep.—Pat wethers, 22s lid to 235; light fat ewes, 17s Id; store wethers, 14s 4d;. blackfaopfl hoggets, 12s Id to 13s 3d; aged ewes in lamb to Southdown rams, lfis Id. Cattle,-Store cows, £2 fie; hi cows, £5 0s; springing heifers, £5 7s Gfl: 2-yenr steers, £4 10s: forward oows, £3 Mr.
