The picnic fund of Levin Public School benefited by £!.:> !)s (id (after paying all expenses) derived from the public concert -7>'iven in the -Century Hall last Tuesday. An amalgamation of two entertainment companies doav operating in Levin is being fixed up, and is likely to take effect as from Monday next. During the recent rough weather a really good fourteen feet "bout AA-as washed ashore at the mouth of Hokio stream. It Avas found hy Mr Ben Stickles, and has been brought up into the creek. The piano solo for boy or girl under 12, eonlcsted at the Shannon Competitions on Wednesday, avus avoii by Master S. Parsons, of Levin. By a typographical error the class was printed in yesterday's Chronicle as being only for girls under 12.
