KESOLUITONS AIUUVED AT. At the ordiuary monthly meeting of the Horowhenua County Council on Saturday morning there were present: - Messrs G. X. Stephenson (chairman), H. Freeman, A. W. Skerman, G. A. Monk, Geo. Watson, John Kebbell, and James Prouse. Mr S. Somerville was given permission to erect a fence in front of his sections (o7 and 5!), Stansell-street, Shannon), and Mr l\ Stewart's re.fiucsf to divert a Mater race was acceded to "'during the pleasure of the Council." In order to give access Io Mr Wood's section at Grahamstreei, Shannon, the county chairman and county engineer were authorised to make arrangements for erecting a bridge. Conditional on Mr Lambert providing handrails to the bridge and carrying out other extras, the council will make a grant of £10 to Mr Lambert. The suggestion of arbitration between the Manawafu County and Horowhenua County in respect of the Foxton-Shannon road was agreed to. The Manawatu Council suggested sfr Horowhenua Coimfv Council appointed Mr B. ]{'. Gardener as its representative. The offer of £7 10s per annum grant, for ten years, made to Messrs Adkin and McKay by the Horowlienun County Council, lasl month, towards the erection of a proposed i bridge over the Ohau fiver, was ! reaffirmed.
