i EVENTS IN SHANNON. (Chronicled by our Position t Pepresentative.) DEBATING SOCIETY. The usual weekly meeting of Hie Shannon Debating Society took place on Tuesday evening, in the Druids' Hall, under the presidency of the Pev. J. A. Mclveiuie. There was a fairly numerous attendance of members. The business of the even- i \\\<x -was the recital of Sludi.espeare's "As you like it," with the following caste: — Rosalind, Mrs Law. Celia, Mrs Laurvig. Phoebe, Mrs Gibson. Audrey, Miss Wiekliffe. Duke,'Mr Clayton. Duke Frederick, Mr Gardiner Amiens and .Tuques, Mr Tilling. Adam and Sir Oliver Martent, Mr Exall. Orlando, "Mr Trainer. Touchstone. Mr Selby. William and Silvius, MiAdams. Corrin and tin l Second Lord. Nov. J. A. McFenzio. Each of the players did their best to make the reading a stic"oss, and the result was a very nleasant time for performers and audience. Tt was resolved to offer y nrize for the best article contributed to the journal, of which Mr T. T .Trainer is editor.
