The Dairy Union's clieese factory at uiunakau lias just completed a very satisfactory year, in spite of the comparatively low price ruling for cheese when the largest shipments were arriving in London (says the Otaki Mail), the suppliers receiving a fraction under 12 Jd for the year. One hundred and fifty ions were made, as against Jl'-i tons last year. This is a satisfactory increase, and shows the farmers are at last appreciating that they are reaping all the benefits of their co-oper-ation without having any of the liability. The working expenses show fluil it cost 5(1 per lb of cheese to place it f.0.b., which will compare very favourably with any factory of the same output. The working accounts and original London account sales are shortly to be submitted to the suppliers, who will have the option of selling at contract or consigning the ensuing season's output. Amongst questions on this week's Order Paper is one by Mr Isitt, who gives notice that he will ask the Minister of Labour, Whether, since learning from the member for Otaki the reported sanitary coiicliTioiis of a certain flax-mill, he has instructed a Government Inspector to inspect the said mill with a view of ascertaining whether or not the regulations issued by him are being complied with? tJKmpmM.yßSß4ass*amtt.
