On Saturday evening last .a demonstration -was given in Levin oi Pa the Homo Cinematography. Those persons present were well pleased with the clearness of the pictures. A large picture. Bl't square, Mas seen on the screen. To-night a demonstrative 'performance will bo held in the Arapaopao Hall, when the admission charge of Is and children Gd will bo divided with the hall fund, and (ho .same arrangement and display will be seen at Oliau to-morrow rveuing (Tuesday). Five Levin sportsmen had an exciting time at Ivapiti yesterday. They left Levin at a.m.. ,and did not return until :j o'clock this morning. They spent the day fishing in the shade of Te Kauparaha's retreat, but at evening they were unable to get hjK'k to the mainland, na the sea ran too high. However, they were rewarded by some- exciting fish ing in tho dusk, one cyclwt of the. party hauling in something that looked like a Michelin tyro. It exploded in something between a .snap and a bark, curled three times around (lie leg of .a wheelwright, snapped at tho boot of a popular boxer, and eventually took its rest on the floor of the boat—in the form of a conger eel twelve feet long.
