Mis age was and he had been in this district for lour months. Mrs Lit lie testified that her Imsliand had been in fairly good health until six weeks ago. when he had crvsipilas nf the hands. Then lie complained of trouble in the kidney.s and coiiinieirod (o take Dean's backache pills. Those gave no relief iiud he grew weaker, hut, though his wile urged him to have a doctor' lie declined, believing that lie would get better. lie was so weak on Wednesday tbat he agreed to have medical advice, but next morning, about !>.!■">. he died. Me was quite conscious up to the last, and on Thursday morning, about: 8 o'clock, he sat up to (alee a sedlitz powder and a drink of warm milk. Alter that lio lay hack and passed away quickly. Thomas Dawson, wood and coal dealer, of Levin, said he had visited deceased during his illness, and bad pressed him to call iu a doctor. Hut he .seemed to fear that if he did so an operation would ho the next thing, and to this lie objected he naid he preferred death to that. Me maintained tbat be was getting hotter. On Wednesday evening 'witness called, and the patient said he would havo a doctor. .Mr Dawson called at Dr. Bry.son's. hut lie was out. Later he called again, and the ; doctor said he was going out tbat way in the morning and would call, hut at 9.15 a.m. on Thursday Mr Little passed away. Tho Coroner returned a verdict of "Death from natural oauseo. '
