Farewell to Mr and Mrs Burns

Last Tuesday evening a number of friends met at the residence of Mr Pfiil. Tuohy to bid farewell to Mr and Mrs T. M. Burns and family, who have left Levin to reside ill Australia.

Mr Burns has been manager of the Fresh Food and Ico Company's creamery here for about six years, and during that time has become very popular with all who have the pleasure of knowing him, and will be greatly missed by a large number of Levin friends, as also will Mrs Burns. Music and .singing, together with games, etc., made the time pa.ss very pleasantly until the early hours. Before "parting, Mr Swan wick, on behalf of those present, wished the Burns family a pleasant voyage and good luck >in their new home. Mr Burns thanked all for their good wishes, and said he. was sorry to be leaving Levin : he would never forgot his many friends and their acts ol kindness to himself and 1 his wife and iamily. The party joined hands and sang "Auld Lang Syne.'' and finally dispersed after simging "'For they .are Jolly Good Fellows."

Yesterday morning a number of friends wont to tho train to say a last farewell to Mr and Mrs Burns.
