The land is„ well watered by the Finnis stream. Mr Perreau expects to sail with his family for Australia next Christmas. Canon Garland, from Queensland, preached a forceful sermon on the Bible in Schools question at St. Mary's Church, Levin, on Sunday evening. The reverend gentleman T6 a clear speaker, his style plain and simple, and his arguments telling. There was a full congregation in the church, who listened attentively. Mr James McLeavey occupied tho chair. A resolution, was passed unanimously agreeing to tinproposed severance of Horowhenua County from the Wellington Hospital District, and connecting tho county with tho Palmerstou North Hospital District. Regarding tho high-pres-sure Mater to bo supplied from Levin, after hearing the estimated cost of different sized pipes and also a proposal to consider an amalgamated scheme of supplying Ohau and Manakau, a committee (consisting of Messrs McLeavey, A. Wylic and Sutherland) was formed for the purpose of going into further details. If needed, a further meeting will be; formed at Manakau. It is Mr Gardener's intention to address a meeting at Manakau, next week, on hospital and high-pressure-water matters.
