IM-o.ssi'.s Sheargold & Thomas, Ohau. .MR J. H. ANDREW - MANAKAU IS LIFE WORTH LIVING? (By "Philo.!') To almost everyone there occur times when the question whether life is worth living thrusts itself upon them, but there are, fortunately, very few who come to a negative conclusion and decide to anticipate nature by hurryinn "behind the veil." To those in the possession of buoyant health the question occurs but seldom, but there are so many people who are never in thorough health, and others who suffer from pain and sickness, that to ttam—the far larger class, —the vital question is apt to intmV itself with persistency. It is remarkable how many people suffer from pain and sickness which they could readily be cured of if they were aware of the cause of their trouble.. Of course there are diseases which cannot be cured, but such die orders as rheumatism, gout, neuralgia, lumbago, backache, sciatica, blood disorders, anaemia, indigestion, bilionaness, jafndice, sick headache, general debility, gravel, stone and bladder as they do so frequently, from a diseased or inactive condition of the kidneys and liver, are amenable to proper treatment: When the kidneys and liver are working actively and in harmony, uric and biliary poisons are thrown off from the system in a natural maiiner. and, as it is the presence of these poisons in the blood which causes the suffering entailed by any of the complaints mentioned, the removal of the poisons means the consequent cessation ci pain and suffering. The kidneys of tto average person filter and extract from the blood about three pints ofOurin 3 every .day. In this quantity of urine should be dissolved about an ounce of urea, ten or twelve grains in weight of uric acid, and other animal and mineral matter varying from a third of an ounce to nearly an ounc"e. If the kidneys are working freely and healthily all this solid matter leaves the body dissolved in the urine, but if through weakness i or disease the kidneys arc unable to do their work properly, a quantity of i these urinary substances remains in the blood and flows through the veins contaminating the whole system. _ Then wo suffer from some form of uric poisoning, such as Rheumatism, Gout, Lumbago, Backache, Sciatica, Persistent Headache, Neuralgia, Gravel, Stone, and Bladder Troubles. The liver is an automatic chemical laboratory. In the liver various sub stances are actually made from the blood. Two or three pounds of bile are thus made by the liver every, da'y. The liver takes sugar from the blood, converts it into another form, and stores it up so as to bo able to again supply it to the blood, as' the latter may#require The liver changes uric acid, which is insoluble, into urea, which is completely soluble, and the liver also deals with the blood corpuscles which have lived their life and are useful no longer. When the liver is inactive or diseased we suffer from somo form of biliary poisoning, such as Indigestion, Biliousness, Anaemia, Jaundice, Sick Headache, General Debility, and Blood Disorders. So intimate is the relation between the work done by the kidneys and that done by the liver, that where there is any failure on the part of the kidneys the liver is apt to become affected in sympathy, and vice versa. It was the realisation of the importance of this close union of the labour of these vital organs which resulted in the discovery ' of the medicine now known throughout the world as Warner's Safe Cure. Certain investigators, knowing what a boon it would be to humanity if some medicine could be found which would act specifically on both the kidneyi and liver, devoted themselves to an exhaustive search for such a medium, and their devotion was eventually rewarded by their success in compounding a medicine which possesses the required quality. Warner's Safe Cure exhibits a : marvellous healing action in cases of I functional or chronic disease "of the I kidneys and liver, and restoring them, ' as, generally, it is able to do, to health I and activity, it, of necessity, cures com ' plaints due to the retention in th« system of urinary and biliary poisons. A vigorous action of -the kidneys _ and liver naturally eliminates the poisons, and troubles due to the presence of the poisons cease. Cures effected by War* I ner'o Safe Cure are permanent simply because they are natural. Diseases, diagnosed as Bright's disease, h ave i ten yielded to treatment by-Warner* Safe Cure. . . . ** : * Warner's Safe Cure is sold-by chemists and storekeepers everywhere, both in the original (ss) bottles and in the cheaper (2» 6dj oon-»lcoholio (Cwcin« t»atedl foruk ' -
