j This game was played at Shannon last Saturday, before a large attendI ance of the public. The game was a good one, and it was only, after a hard struggle that Levin won. Shannon confined the play to their forwards, and would take no risks with Levin's backs. Moynihan won the toss, and elected to play down hill and with the wind. Walter Winiaia kicked of?. and Malcolm returned to touch in Levin's twenty-five. , From the throw-in Shannon's forwards dribbled over the line, where Levin was saved just in time by Tuti forcing. Walter Winiata dropped the ball out, and it was quickly returned by Fryer. From the tlirow-in Shannon knocked on and a scrum was ordered. Levin for the only time during the match managed to hook the ball. Levin backs securing Nepia raced along the line where he was grassed just inside Shannon's twenty-fivo. Shannon, however, were not to be de.nied and they were quickly back in Levin's territory and only waiting for the opening to score. At last as all things do the chance came and Gustofsen scored after a fine piece of play on his part. W. Moynihan

On resuming Levin at once assumed the aggressive and Shannon were kept busily defending until Malcolm cleared with a good kick. 1 ( mm tho lino out scrambling play ensued with Levin having slightly tho better. From tho kick off Levin returned with a high kick which the wind carried well down the field, causing Shannon to be oil the defensive. Levin were now trying bard to got over, but the defence of tho Shannon backs was too good to allow of it being pierced. At last "Toddy" picked up the ball and making a good run transferred to loha, whe registered his eocond
try. Although in a bad position iv'opia found the uprights with a good kick. From this on Levin had much the best of matters, and just before time was called "Toddy" marked in a good position and Nepia kicked a splendid goal. Thus Levin won by 11 to 9, after one of the best matches seen in.Shannon. Mr Thompson held the whistle.

The game was played in Levin and after a most exciting game the home team defeated the visitors." Kimberley's forwards were instrumental in winning the match, while the .tacks were soon to better advantage than hitherto.
