Big Backhouse hits no soaring goals Ho comes no more to play— Hut still we trace his size 12 solos Along the grassy way. Stout Didgoy Lorrie ceaeed the gamo; Ho left Levin behind Hut passing milk-carts keop hi* namo Before our eye and mind. And where is "Boss?" that siniter tall, . Whose drives along the green Sent thundering the hockey ball And roused his rival's spleen? Ah. "Boss" is famed in other field* Gives other games his sub.; Tho stick that nowadays ho wields Is quite a knottv club. 'j ( Where various boys of other days? The "sports" who used to rush? Alas, thoy spread in sundered ways By valley, hill and bush. Ono in the pumice lands up north Pursues the "shadows" yet, With focused rays he wanders forth His easy crust to got.
