Mr Lloyd George, : n speaking on tho second rending of the Financial ißill, intimated that he strongly favoured the appointment of a departmental committee, consisting of business men and somo commoners, to inquire into the existing system of Income Tax assessment, with a view to-removing anomalies. Tho Westminster Gazette agrees with several speakers to the bill, that it is high time to revise and simplify the assessment, inasmuch at some pay'two much and otfcers too little.
