In reply to a deputation regarding tlie site of the North Island Agricultural College, lie agreed tlxat Iluakura (State Farm was most suited for such a college, hut lie further intimated that he intended to establish an agricultural board, composed of Government nominees, and representatives to lie appointed hv the agricultural societies of both islands. Until that time the site of the college- would not be fixed. The 1 unctions of the board would be to sub "ise the Minister of Agriculture on all matters of importance. In the past this great industry had not received sufficient attention, and ho would be only able to give two or three hours a week to its business, which not not enough, for matters which required special ministerial attention. The Premier tuf-ned on the 'Frankton Horough electricity and water, costing £19.000. THE THI?EK-FIl-'THS .MAJORITY. Afterwards he attended a bani|iiet. and later received a deputation from the No-license League, regarding tlie proposed reduction of the majority vote. 110 said a bill at present was under consideration, and the Government would not go hack on anything it had jfroinised. BITTER AWARDS. At the Waikato Winter Show, the lM)-giiinea challenge sup for export butter (open) was won bv Golden Ray Daily C'o. (Nelson). M*auriceville Co. (Wairarapa) was second, laihape third. and Taeri Peninsular fourth.
