A special contributor supplies the following report on the ShannonFoxton match:-—A crowd assembled at the recreation ground on Saturday afternoon to witness the contest between Fox ton and Shannon seniors. Movnihan relieving with a good kick into touch. Shannon then carried play into their opponent's territory, where Pope had an unsuccessful shot at goal from a mark. Foxton again became aggressive, and through offside play were awarded a free kick, from which Irons landed a good goal. The Shannon backs now started a passing bout, and although the ball «as handled accurately, the passing was too slow, and too much crossfield to be of any advantage. Mowbray (Shannon) then put in a very clever run, heating practically tin whole of the opposing backs, but was brought down within a few feel of the line. Foxton gradually worked play back to the Shannon line, "'here Martin secured and dashed over. Jrona failed with the kick a. Eoal. Half time was then called. On resuming Shannon forced the pace, and soon had Foxton in difficulties. Emery, securing, put in a good run, but waa grassed on the line, a scrum following. From a lino-out, o'Regan (Shannon) caught the ball and dived over. Foxton. not to be denied, came with a sweeping rush down the field, but a timelj kick by P. Moynihan saved. Shan"on, with a. passing rush, brought plav back to the Foxton line, and •Malcolm, securing the ball from the loose, got over. Play now became very fast, and Shannon kept Foxtan busily defending for some time. Irons, however, put in a good line kick and relieved the pressure. A good forward rush by Foxton was stopped by Buckmann, tho hall finally going into touch close to the Shannon line. The light was now becoming very bad, and from th's out the game resolved itself into n forward scramble, and ended in ; draw, each side having scored sis points. Mr Smith carried the whis tie.
