NEW ZEALAND FARMERS' GOOPERATIVE DISTRIBUTING CO., LTD.
WELLINGTON, May 22. The potato market has weakened considerably, a.s we anticipated in previous forecasts, and ia rise can only be looked lor towards the end of the season unless an export trade is possible, the chances of which are, however, not bright. Enquiries for seed lines are now coming in, and a
fai rdemand is expected, while we anticipate no difficulty as regards quality. Onions are in good demand and values are likely to rise somewhat. although fancy price,s are not looked for this season. Dead pigs are in splendid demand, and we anticipate a rise in value in the near future. Fresh eggs are in fair sale, and preserved lines are wanted in greater quantities, with brisker sales thai i'or some weeks past. Australian pollard is now coming to hand. Oats are slightly weaker, but wheat is linn. Chaff is now offering more freely, FRUIT. Cooking and dessert ap pies are selling well where quality is right, the former being most in leinand. Dessert pears are want•d, and early arrivals should sell ivell. Tomatoes are now a"bout done
for the season. V EG ET A B LES. - Both ea bba ge cauliflower are higher and meet eager demand. Carrots parsnips and swedes are in fair sale. Marrows and pumpkins are wanted.
