Horowhenua A. & P. Association.
A KOU WARD .MOVE. The committee of the above association met.on Friday last, U> consider a proposal from Mr J. C. Neill,' to hold meetings during the winter months, and discuss matters affecting agricultural and pastoral interests; .also to arrange for Government experts to give lectures in this county on cow-testing, sand-drilts control, forestry, and shelter-plant-ing, etc. Those present were of the opinio;) that the suggestion made would resuit in a great deal of good, and if was resolved (on the motion of Mr Keill, seconded by Mr Ward): "Thai, a committee be formed to arrange lor an early meeting of the association to discuss important questions.' It was also decided, if possible, to arrange for Mr \V. M. Singleton, ol the Dairy I'roduce Division, to give a lecture on cow-testing at an early date, which all members of the association together with farmers and others interested, aj%j-to he invited to attend. The of making other anirngonieii{«j in connection with other matters was lift. in the hands of Messrs Prouso. MoLeavey, Ward and Neil!.
Tt is understood that as soon as a reply has been received from the department the date of the lecture will he advertised.
