The potato market lias weakened considerably, as we anticipated in •previous forecasts, and a. rise can only be looked tor towards tlie end of the season unless an export trade is possible, the chances of which are, however, not bright. Enquiries for seed lines are now coming in, and a fai rdemand is expected, while we anticipate no difficulty as regards quality. Onions are in good demand and values are likely to rise somewhat, although fancy prices are not looked for this season. Dead pigs are in splendid demand, and we anticipate a rise in value in the near future-. Fresh eggs are in fair sale, and preserved lines aro wanted in greater quantities, with brisker sales that for some weeks past. Australian pollard i« now coming to hand. Oats are slightly weaker, but wheat is firm. Chaff is now offering more freely. FRUIT.--Cooking and dessert ap pies are selling well where quality is right, the former being most in I demand. Dessert pears are wnntI ed. nnd early arrivals should sell j well. Tomatoes are now a"bout done for the season. VEGETABLES.—Both cabbage cauliflower arc higher and meet eager demand. Carrots parsnips and swedes are in fair sale. Marrows and pumpkins aro wanted. Lottuot is scarce at much higher nates-Potatoes.-—'Prime £5 10s per ton. Onions.—£B per ton.
