Levin Domain Hoard met on Eriray afternoon the in embers present being Messrs Peter Stewart (in the chair). W. G. Adkin, James Prouse, M. Eosella. E. 0. Smith, and G. P. Brown. It was resolved that the board notify the Government that it proposes to again lease the area, of some ,'33 acres of the Levin Domain Board, of which the present lease stands in the name of E. A. Hewitt: held by X. Kirkcaldie. Tho proposition is that, the land shall bo leased for a term of (say) ton years subject to tho reservations in favoui of sports bodies, racing clubs, etc. The existing lease, which expires in 'September, 1913, stipulates that sports bodies, etc., have the right to outer such grounds on not more than six days per annum. Tenders for the area are to be called for in due course, and the area of eight acres forming the park proper is to be kept out of the lea.se for full enjoyment of the public, and the moneys derived from tlie lease used for maintenance and upkeep of tho park. The initial meeting of the Lovin Young Women's Improvement Society, held on Thursday evening, was a most successful gathering. Mr Clark has been deservedly popular during his long occupancy of the headmastership. and the fact was attested by the number of presentations made to him last night.
