Death of a Horse.

An equine who has been working hard for many years passed away in Levin this morning. Death was evidently due to heart failure, brought on by a word or two of praise - nut insufficient nourishment. It happened by the Century Hall, As he was being ridden past that bidding a pedestrian who was passing him said: "That is a fine horse you've got," and the rider said it was. The horse thereupon fell down and died. ft is not known whether the horse thought it was a sneer, but we take it that he looked upon the remark as honest praise, and as lie so seldom was flattered lie gave up the ghost while the words were still fresh in his memory.
