Palmerston people were in terested in the hoard, and they would agitate for a wider area and would probably bring in Keilding and Marton to improve the port for the benefit of Palmerston. The amendment was put to tlx 1 vote and supported by four members (including the chairman. Mr J. G. Oobbo). Th; remaining four members voted against it. The chairman thereupon gave his casting vole for the amendment, and declared it carried. Feilding therefore will not be represented nt the conference.
