PoLiitoes are in excellent demand and tho nmrkot is steadily supplied. Ouioiis are slow of sale at advanced rates. Porkers are in excellent demand, as also are cliopers, baoonors, and suckers. The market could absorb much larger supplies. Eresh eggs arc very scarce, and keenly enquired for, while preserved lines are inclined to be easier. Wheat has advanced. Oats aio firm. Chaff unchanged. The winter season is bringing in a demand for barloy meal, of which considerable quantities have been shippod during the last lew weeks,. Heavy bookings for present and forward delivery of slag and supcrphosplnate are also taking place, in view of a possible rise in ocean freights shortly. We havo a spelndid line of southern grown dressed Algerian seed oats to offer, and farmers would be well advised to secure their supplies early this season. We are prepared to book for forward delivery. FRUlT.—Cooking apples have taken a sharp rise, with keen demand ; dessert fair. Dessert pears are freely enquired for, and early arrivals would meet good values. Quinces arc selling freely. VEGETABLES.-Cauliflowers are slightly lower, while cabbage has advanced somewhat.
