In the case of Ernie Hansen against Michael Leonard, a cab driver. claiming £52, being the balance of -C'7o which plaintiff entrusted to defendant while on a "joy' 1 ride" extending over some days, Mr Kettle. iS.M., gave judgment for the plaintiff for £40. He said the affair was disgraceful from start to finish. Plaintiff, who was foolish in liquor, handed over a large sum to a cabman, who betrayed his trust. Tlie magistrate added tTiat he had no sympathy with the plaintiff. He regretted that he could not hand the money to a charitable institution.
TERRITORIAL TERRORS. WELLINGTON. This Day. Tt is alleged that the three Territorials who are undergoing military detention at Mount Cook Barracks resented the conduct of a noncommissioned officer in drilling them and set upon him, knocking him down. The three accused were be fore the Court to-day. and were remanded till Saturday.
