Whibley, L. Frooniaii, Goo. Uarlier, Alox. Spoirs, A. Green, S. Read. For Foxton Harbour Board three nominations were made for two seats. P. H. Hennossy (present chairman) and F. E. The four labour nominees for tho council woro hadly dofcatcd. PEILDING, This Day. At the mayoral election Mr A. M. Ongley defeated <Mr E. Goodbehero (the sitting mayor) by live votes. It was the heaviest poll on record. Mr Ongley is a prominent athlete. He is the captain of botli tho cricket and football clubs, and is a chain-. pion tennis player. In the poll as to a half holiday, the Wednesday proposal was carried. AUCKLAND, Tin's Day. Auckland council elections resulted in tho election of live new members, including Miss H. Melville. For membership of the. Harbour Board, Mr Alison was tho only sitting member defeated. Tho Hospital Board election resulted in a majority for tho reform candidates. Dr. Florence Keller heading the poll. Tho half-holiday poll gave, a majority of IGO3 for Saturday. PAHIATUA, This "Day. ■Mayoral contest: David Cremo, tho sitting mayor, polled 290 votes; J. N. Wilson, ex-mayor, 270. HASTINGS. This Day. Styles. Hart and Donovan (Labour), and I-loklerness and MrCWmick were re-olected to the council. Now councillors are Kfng. McKibuin, Blnko, and Wade (Labour). Vov Hastings seat on Napier Harbour Board, Lane (the Tnner Harbour candidate) was re-elected l )y a sweeping majority over A. L. D. Praser. MeOormick. and Fouler WEDNESDAY HALF HOLIDAY DANNEYJ'KKE, This Day. The Wednesday half holiday was retained by u majority of V 7 votes.
