Ladies ami gentlemen,-i am a candidate for re-election as 0110 of the Manawatu Representatives on tho Wellington Harbour Board. I have been a member of the Board for the past two years; during that tiino I liavo been regular in my attendance at its meetings, and have endeavoured to discharge the duties pertaining to the position of member, to the befii of my abilities, especially with regard to the interests of this district. My long and extensive business experience should make my services on the Board of some value to tho district. The fact that I am personally largely interested in sheep fanning should satisfy County Electors that this most important industry, which in tho past has had no direct representative on tho Board, will receive careful attention at my hands, should I 1)e again returned. As the Electoral District is very extensive, extending from Waikanae in the South to tho Rangitikei river in the North, it seems a fair arrangement that one member should be resident in the southern end, and tho. other in the northern. Consequently I feel confident that the generous support which 1" received two years ago from Palmorston North, Levin, Foxton, and other southern centres will bo accorded me upon this occasion. Should you again honour me with your confidence. I will endeavour to discharge my duties as your representative. as I have done during the past two years. I am, Ladies and Gentlemen, Your Ohwlient Sermnt, JOHN COBBE, Feilding. 877-tc WELLINGTON' HARBOUR BOARD ELECTIONS. TO THE BURG ESSES OF LEVIN AND DISTRICT. T BEG to offer myself as a CandiA date for one of the two seats in the Manawatu Electorate at the forthcoming elections of the Vi elli'lgton Harbour Board. 91 In offering my .services, I may .state that I have been a resident in the Manawatu District for the past eighteen years, and have always taken a keen interest in public affairs. Tliis is my second year of office as President of the J'almciston North Chamber of Commerce, and previously I was vice-president, for two years. V I have a personal knowledge of all matters relating to the export of wool, frozen meat, and other produce, and am well acquainted with the requirements of importers. It will he my earnest endeavour (if elected) to set? that the interests of the FARMERS and EXPORTERS, together with those of tho BUSINESS community in tho Manawatu, receive that attention on the Wellington Harbour Board to which they are entitled. ; a ,| It is felt in a good many quarters that a change in the personnel of the Board is desirable, hence I have boon asked to contest the election. This will lie held on the 30th April, [ when I trust I shall receive your ' support. Yours faithfully. M. A. ELIOTT. i Pnlmerston North. F April 2nd, 1913, 376-f ) __ fIOROWHENUA DAILY CHRONICLE.
