NAPIER, Tliis Day. Over cigFifc thousand people travelled by rail to Napier yesterday to view the warship. The traffic was handled by the authorities expeditiously and without mishap. Captain Halsey was so pleased with the whole arrangement that he issued a special invitation to the >wiholo of the entertainment committee to visit the vessel. The cruiser will leave at 7 o'clock tonight for Gisborno.

DANNEVI-RKE, This Day. General God ley, who visited the Oringi encampment yesterday; when asked this morning whether lie had heard anything concerning the alleged man hunt at the .encampment on Thursday, inwhioh -a reporter figured, said he knew nothing of the matter. The reporter in question was a Territorial office* who had. furnished the report to tho Wellington Post concerning an attempted march to Dannevirke last Saturday night. Serious allegations have been made as to the conduct of,the men 011 Thursday night. General Godley informed a reporter that he will have the matter thoroughly investigated. James Smith, a labourer at KiritaEi, was found dead in a paddock . this morning. He had been engaged in carting firewood. " The horce'evidently had bolted. An inquest will be held.
