Levin Stock Sales.

Thore wore fair yardings of stock in all the yards yesterday, but very littlo alteration was apparent in the market. Prices all round were practically the same as they have been at the last few sales. One or two of the lines, though, brightened considerably. Particularly was this noticeable in springing heifers and cows. Cows just- calved brought up to £10 10s in Messrs Abraham and "Williams's yards, and springers to nearly the eame. Sheep at present are not bringing good prices, although there seems to be a large number changing hands. Pigs are selling well, all classes meeting with a strong demand. ABRAHAM AND WILLIAMS. LIMITED, 'Messre Abraham and "Williams. Ltd., report: At Levin, on Friday, a good entry of sheep met witli keen competition, and all lots changed hands with the exception of one pen of ewes in lamb. Cattle met with a better demand, weaners particularly selling readily at an advance on recent quotations. We quote:— SHEEP.—Fat wethers. 17s Cd ; fat owes, 12s 10d to Ms fid; forward owes, 10s 3d to 12s 2d; store ewes, ss; 2-tooth wethers. 12s 10il to 13s Id; forward wethers, 15s; lambs (woolly), 8s 2<l to lie l<1: black face woolly lambs. 9s 3d to 9s 10d. CATTLE.—Fat bullock. £9 8s: fat cows, £4 10s to £4 19s; store cows, 30s to £3 10s; weaners, 20s to 32s fid ; small weaners. 13s to 18s: yearling steers, £2 ss; springing heifers, £7 5s to £8. HTTCHINGS, HAXKIXS AND CO.. LTMITED. Messrs Hitchings. Hankins and Co., Ltd., report on their sale as follows: We held a most successful sale of pigs, poultry and produce yesterday. We had a very larpco attendance, and bidding was spirited, pigs being in special demand, and we made a total clearance. We yarded 90 pigs of all classes, and W, head of poultry. We quote: — Light porkers. 25s to 32s (VI heavier sorts, 33s 6d. 31s Cd. ' fid, 40.s to 41s; light haconors, 42s fid. '13s, 45s fid to 47s fid; choppers, to 475; stores. LSs 9d to 225; slips Us fid to 13s 9d ; weaners, Bs. 8s 6d. 9s Gd to 12s (3d. Ducks. 2« 3d to 2s 4d; hens. Is to 1« 2d, at per each. Apples, per half case, Is Gd to 2s: onions, 3filb, 3s; half cw!., to 5s 3d; eating potatoes, to 11s f>3 per sack; seed potatoes, Gs Gd per sack; pig potatoes, 2s Gd per sack.
