Note.—Quotations, unless otherwise specified, are average market prices on spot):— Mutton.—The market is firm in anticipation of small arrivals. (Mulilated word omitted here). Canterbury 4id per lb; North Island 4£d. Lamb.—The market is very firm, on account of ,a small supply. Canterbury GJd per lb; other than Canterbury fijd. Beef.—The market is quiet. Supplies of River Plate are heavy. New Zealand hinds 3ijd per lb; fores 3Jd. Butter.—The market is firm fw best quality, but there is a limited demand for poorer grades. Choicest New Zealand, per ewt.. 117s: Australian and Argentine 108s ; Danish 12os: Siberian ilQs. Cheese.—The market is weaker, and tendency downward. New Zealand (30s Gd per cwfc; Canadian Gls Gd. Hemp.—The market is depressed. Prices are nominal, at last quotations Spot—New Zealand good fair grade, per ton. £31; fair grade £31 ; fair current Manila £33. April-June—New Zealand good fair. £34 10s; fair grade C.'il 10s: fair current Manila €34. The output from Manila for tho week wa.s 20.000 bales.
