MEETING OF LEVIN LADIES' CLUI3. The seventh annual general meeting of the Levin Lndies' Hockey Club was held in Mr D. Smart's office on Friday evening. "Mrs B. 11. Gardener was in the chair. Tho following report was read' by the seciclary (Miss li. Ambler):—

It is now the seventh year since the Ladies' Hockey Club was formed. and it is tho first year I have had tho pleasure of presenting the annual report and balance shoot. 1 am pleased to say that last season wo wore more successful in always having a team for the matches, and also tlio girls showed more enthusiasm in the game, and were also always ready for a practice. Last year wo still retained tho position of third place in tho Banner championship. and only hope that this season wc will gain first place. This latter. T am afraid, is rather doubtful. for a number of our old players lvavo recently left the district. We want new members to take their places, and T feel sure that with practice wo will have a very good chance of obtaining our ambition.

During tlio season INfiss Francis resigned lior position as secretary, which was much regretted by tlio Irani. Tlio rotwds wore: Out of eleven m-at-rlios playod wo won I. lost -t. and drew .'3; goals being scored iiv Misses Blows. ITakaria and Whitehouse. Trophies were kindly proson toil by Mrs B. .11. Gardener, for most improved back, won by Miss Hakaria ; best all round plavor. presented by Mrs G. P. Biowji and won by Miss T. Blows; and for mo.st improved forward, presented by Mrs H. Walk ley. ,;uid won by Miss G. Smith.

In conclusion I would appeal to our girls to practice as much as possible. so as to secure our lirst place In the championship this season.
